David has a Masters in Biochemistry and Doctorate in Microbiology. He was director of the Australian CRC for Aquaculture, sat on the NSW CSIRO Advisory Committee and consulted to the UN and multinational corporations on biotechnology and waste treatment. With 25 publications and patents, David has a strong track record in biotechnology, fermentation, and agri-product/food processing chemistry and engineering.

Don has specialist project management skills and expertise in identifying and evaluating new technology-based agribusiness projects.

Don has helped guide projects through technical development to commercialisation, and constructed and commissioned pilot plant and production facilities. He has a thorough understanding of compliance and industry regulations.
Polly MacLennan
Director

Polly has 30 years’ experience in microbiology R&D and management including with Bayer in the UK, Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) in Melbourne, Techno-Proteins Pty Ltd and Biotechnology Australia Pty Ltd.

Polly is a specialist in yeast and solid-state fermentation technology. At Techno-Proteins, she was involved in the development and worldwide patenting of a novel solid-state food fermentation product similar to minced beef.
Graham Hobba
R&D Manager

After 12 years in Europe with a leading biotech company, Graham returned to Australia to head the Agritech R&D team. Graham is a skilled R&D manager with expertise in marketing and business development; he excels in communicating technical information to clients.

Graham specialises in protein chemistry and molecular biology, and has strengths in project management, technical problem solving, ideation and simplifying complex tasks. Well known in the industry in Australia and internationally, he brings a wealth of experience, process and rigour to the company.
Jason Hopcraft
Bioprocess Engineer

Jason is a biologist and chemist experienced in developing and scaling-up novel food-related industrial processes based on agriculturally derived feedstocks and wastes. His has designed, built and operated large pilot-scale demonstrations to prove the technical, regulatory and economic feasibility of a process or product prior to marketing trials.

He combines formal scientific training with specialist skills in industrial design, stainless steel fabrication, computerised process instrumentation and automation, process and economic modelling, and industrial management.
Jiang Wu

Jiang has more than 20 years’ experience in academic and industrial research in fermentation, food science and microbiology. He held research and technical management positions at Jiangsu Agricultural College, Nanjing Agricultural University and the China Pharmaceutical University gaining experience in ethanol fermentation, and in microbial production of antibiotic, pesticide and enzyme products.

Jiang leads Agritechnology's research in fermentation biotechnology.
Michele Stansfield
Animal Health and Regulatory Specialist

Michele brings expertise in quality assurance and in developing production systems that are commercially viable and meet regulatory requirements.

Michele handles government and regulatory submissions for Agritechnology and R&D tax incentive documentation. She is also involved in small and large-scale fermentation projects assisting with quality control testing and quality assurance processes.
Derek Robinson

Derek is an experienced project manager who has worked across the energy efficiency, construction, food and beverage, and IT sectors. While his primary focus is on business development and project management, Derek is also a key industry contributor with seats on the AusBiotech National Advisory Committee for Food Science and the NSW Product Development and Innovation Group for the AIFST.
Judy Treavors
Administration Manager

A highly experienced accountant, Judy has been working with Agritechnology and its associated companies for more than 10 years. She has built effective systems within the organisation and provided excellent guidance in preparing the annual accounts. Judy has also filled company secretary and back office roles for the various businesses operated by the Agritechnology group.

In addition to her work at Agritechnology, Judy provides accountancy services to a number of not-for-profit organisations.
